Kajabi's email system handles two types of email: broadcasts and sequences.

Building a Sequence in Kajabi
Sequences in Kajabi are built within the Email section of your dashboard. You define the trigger (what action starts the sequence), then build the email series with your chosen timing intervals. Each email in the sequence is written and configured individually. Kajabi's visual sequence builder makes it straightforward to see the flow and adjust timing or content without touching code.
Segmentation With Tags
Tags are Kajabi's primary segmentation tool. You can tag contacts based on the products they've purchased, the forms they've filled out, the pipelines they've gone through, or manually based on any criteria you choose. Tags then become the basis for targeted broadcasts and conditional logic in sequences, allowing you to send relevant emails to specific subsets of your audience rather than blasting everything to everyone.
Using Email in Pipelines
Kajabi's pipeline feature (its funnel builder) includes email steps that fire automatically as contacts move through the pipeline flow. A contact who opts in to your lead magnet pipeline receives the lead magnet delivery email automatically, followed by whatever nurture sequence you've connected. The pipeline and email systems work together so the entire subscriber journey from opt-in to offer is managed in one place.
Connecting Email to Your Product Data
Because Kajabi holds both your email list and your product data, you can trigger emails based on product-specific behavior. Email students who haven't logged in recently. Send a completion congratulations when a student finishes a course. Offer an upsell to buyers of a specific product.
