What is Mailchimp?

Mailchimp is a marketing automation platform and email marketing service.

Mailchimp has been around for almost 20 years as it was founded all the way back in 2001 by Ben Chestnut and Mark Armstrong.

Mailchimp is a good option if you are just starting out as they have a free plan that allows you to send up to 10,000 emails a month to up to 2,000 clients.

Mailchimp also has built in reporting and an easy to use editor.

Now for the cons.

The biggest con for Mailchimp is it’s price once you grow out of the freemium plan and it’s limited level of email automation.

What is Constant Contact?

Founded in 1995 as Roving Software Constant Contact changed its name in 2004, before being acquired for 1.1 billion dollars in 2015 by Endurance international.

Constant Contact has 4 levels of email marketing service separated by the number of contacts you want to mail.

The $20 plan gives you 500 subscribers while the $95 gives you 10,000. Beyond that you venture into custom or enterprise pricing which can add up.

Constant contact has some cool marketing features in addition to email marketing like the events management feature.

Constant Contact has also scored well on deliverability on independent tests.

The negatives of Constant Contact are that it is rather pricey comparatively especially when you compare it to other services like Kajabi where you get at least 10,000 subscribers on every plan.

Constant Contact also doesn’t offer a full array of automations like sales funnels or webinars.

What is Send in blue?

Originally started as a digital agency by Armand Thiberge and Kapil Sharma, Send in Blue was turned into a marketing automations and email platform in 2012.

Send in blue also covers things like facebook ads, SMS messaging and landing pages.

The biggest pro of send in blue is it’s price.

You get 40,000 contacts for just $20 a month!

However as you can imagine you do get what you pay for.

Another big positive for Send in blue is that it sends SMS messages, not many other email marketing softwares do that.

The biggest con of send in blue are the editor which for the price is good but lags behind robust editors like those used in Kajabi or Constant Contact.

There are also limited integrations with Send In Blue which considering the limited functionality of some of their marketing tools might limit what you can do without having a lot of different softwares tied together.

What is ConvertKit?

Founded by Nathan Berry, Convertkit is a fairly late entrant to the email marketing software market.

Convertkit is marketed as an all in one solution for running your business but as you’ll see in a minute some of those claims might not hold up.

The biggest pros for Convertkit are it’s editor and landing page building which lets you build landing pages EVEN if you don’t have a website. The biggest cons are that Convertkit is very pricey, only offers 3 templates and doesn’t have professional analytics or reporting.

What is Send Grid?

Send grid is an enterprise level email solution that offers CAN-SPAM sensitive deliverabiity, and lets you track email opens, bounces, unsubscribes, and spam reports without any use of code.

Send Grid is used by companies like Uber and Spotify and specializes in sending a large amount of emails with the app sending 4,190 emails per second.

Send Grid is designed to handle mail for larger organizations and it shows.

There is almost no functionality other than email marketing in Send Grid.

They also monitor the types of messages you send and may flag messages that are too salesy as spam.

Send grid also gets expensive fast it’s free plan lets you send up to 40,000 emails but the prices ramp up from there.

Kajabi Vs Mailchimp: While mailchimp is a marketing automations platform used for email marketing it offers surprisingly few marketing automations. Kajabi on the other hand is an all in one platform for running your business. Mailchimp is great for beginners but not as useful for those looking to scale their business. Kajabi supports you throughout the entire lifespan of your business.

Email Limits: Mailchimp’s basic plan lets you send up to 10,000 emails to 2,000 contacts. Kajabi’s basic plan lets you send unlimited emails to up tp 10,000 contacts!

Advantage: Kajabi.

Kajabi Vs Constant Contact: Constant contact is a marketing automations platform that also does email marketing. Kajabi is an all-in-one platform for running your business which does email marketing as well as webpage building, hosting online communities and more!

Email Limits: The basic constant contact package gives you 500 subscribers while the top of the line package gives you 10,000. Every Kajabi package includes unlimited emails to 10,000 contacts.

Advantage: Kajabi

Analytics: Until recently, Constant Contact and Kajabi both offered some analytics basics. But as we discussed in the sections above, recently Kajabi debuted their new professional grade analytics right in the user dashboard.

Advantage: Kajabi.

Other Functions: Both constant contact and Kajabi have additional features for promoting your business online. For Constant contact the events feature is their best non email marketing feature. For Kajabi it’s hard to pick since Kajabi does everything from landing page building to creating online products.

Kajabi Vs Send in blue: Both Send in blue and Kajabi are marketed as all in one online platforms. Both Kajabi and Send in Blue have the capability to do things like build landing pages and create sales funnels. But as you will see one system is much much easier to use!

Email Limits: Send in blue gives you an industry leading 40,000 contacts with it’s basic plan. Kajabi’s basic plan includes 10,000 contacts. This is send in blue’s main selling point, but if you don’t already have 40,000 subscribers do you actually need it?

Advantage: Send in Blue.

Analytics: Until recently, Send in Blue and Kajabi both offered some analytics basics. But as we discussed in the sections above, recently Kajabi debuted their new professional grade analytics right in the user dashboard. Advantage: Kajabi.

Other Functions: Send in Blue and Kajabi both offer the largest selection of non email marketing features in this comparison. There are two major differences though. First Send in Blue offers no integrations which means that you can’t connect send in blue to another tool like Clickfunnels. This means you would need to run each tool in a separate system which is a major headache! The other problem with Send in Blue is the robustness of the tools. From the editor to the pagebuilder everything is just a little outdated and underpowered. Kajabi on the other hand is constantly updated so that you’ll have the most powerful modern tools for running your business online.

Kajabi vs ConvertKit: While marketed as an all in one solution, ConvertKit is really an email marketing platform that also lets you build landing pages. Kajabi is a real all in one platform that allows you to do everything from email marketing and automations to creating membership sites and hosting webinars. All in one system for one price!

Email Limits: Convertkit offers very few contacts and subscribers for the price. In fact if you have more than 7,500 contacts you have outgrown all of their existing plans and have to calculate a custom price. Kajabi’s basic plan gives you 10,000 contacts and unlimited emails.

Advantage: Kajabi.

Analytics: Convertkit’s reporting and analytics leave a lot to be desired. As we discussed in the sections above, recently Kajabi debuted their new professional grade analytics right in the user dashboard.

Other Functions: Convertkit’s main non email marketing function is landing page building. You can even build a landing page if you don’t already have a website! Kajabi offers landing page building as well as fully functional sales funnels. All with just a few clicks! Kajabi vs SendGrid: Send grid is a high volume email marketing tool. Send Grid offers email automations and that’s it. Kajabi on the other hand is a fully functional all in one platform that gives you all the tools you need to run your business in one place for one price!

Email Limits: Send grid’s free plan lets you send up to 40,000 emails but the price ramp up from there. Kajabi’s top of the line plan gives you up to 100,000 contacts. Advantage: Kajabi
