Are you dreaming of owning a business? Generating passive income? Monetizing your expertise online? Plenty of people make a living in this industry and it affords these creators a flexible lifestyle.

No matter what your dream is, you need to take action to get yourself from where you are to where you want to be. Let’s hear about how some successful people took action and what they did to achieve success.

Do you have the right level of initiative?

Kajabi Hero Kev Bieri took action and changed the course of his life. Here’s his story:

“I went from $30,000 a year to $30,000 for one invoice. I worked part-time as a painter and couldn't make a living. I was making others rich and staying poor myself. At some point, I realized that only I can change my life. I started my own local painting business and worked on my mindset. ⁣I had no training on how to run a business. None!”

He invested in education and mentorship and put that coaching in action. Now, he’s moved beyond being a painter, and helps coaches quit their day jobs and bring in consistent income. He says, “It took me some time to get this down but if you really want to shortcut you need help and a roadmap to follow.”

Kev showed initiative when he realized he did not want to be stuck as an employee forever. He developed his business and put in the work to fill gaps in his knowledge. It took hard work, but paid off.

Take action with a pre-sale

Here’s another example of taking action from Kajabi Hero Joey Ragona of Strategic Business Academy. He’s a business coach that helps clients scale to consistent $10,000 revenue months. He details his success with pre-selling a product before it was ready.

“I launched a ‘product' out of thin air and delivered it to paying clients. Without the product built, a sales page, paying for ads - yet I still had a group of people pay me $599 each. I then used the mini-course Kajabi template and within 2 hours, had my new product ready to go, and sent it to my students after the live call. You don’t need to put everything in place before selling your program. I put all my focus and energy into getting the right offer for the right people nailed.”

Now, his success with selling a product that doesn’t exist yet is better reserved for people who already have an audience and some experience with selling digital products. But, it’s a testament to the possibilities. If you have the willingness to come up with an idea, pitch it to your audience, then work quickly to get it into the hands of your customers… you can generate a good return on your time invested.

Take appropriate action

If you want to make a life change, like changing jobs or starting a business, it’s important to not just take action but also take the right actions. You may be super excited about the possibilities for your future, but don’t make impulsive decisions. Think through where you are now, where you want to be, and lay out a strategic map to get there.

For example, if you want to go from working for someone else to running a successful online business, you don’t have to quit your job. Many Kajabi Heroes start selling online courses or membership sites or hosting a podcast while working their regular job, and only take their knowledge commerce business full-time after months or years.
