You are making mid-six-figures in a fast-paced career. You get to fly all over the country doing something you love. Your family wants for nothing financially, and everyone looks at you as the definition of success.
But the truth is, something is off.
You miss your family, and if you decided to screw it all to be there for your kids… the money would stop coming in.
I don't know about you, but that doesn't sound like success to me.
It sounds more like a trap. A well-paying trap, but a trap nonetheless.
And our newest Kajabi Hero, Hank Avink saw his so called success for what it really was and got out as soon as he could.
Hank loved real estate, but he hated the lifestyle. He missed out on so much of his kids’ lives, and he was sick and tired of not being there for them when they needed him. So he took a jump, quit his job, and started his business in his garage.
It may sound like a downgrade, but with some perseverance and work this leap paid off in a big way.
How big exactly?
$18,000 in 30 days big.
So how did he do it?
How Kajabi Helped Hank Capture The Lifestyle He Wanted
Before Hank quit his job, he had taken 600 flights over the course of three years. He loved what he did, but his family’s lives were happening without him. He was fed up with missing out on that.
He set some firm standards for how he wanted his life and business to operate and went all in. So he took a jump, quit his full time career, and went home to work from his garage.
Doesn’t that sound a little scary?
You’ve got to remember, quitting his job meant the money would stop coming in. He had a family, a house, and all of these responsibilities he had to take care of.
He left all of that money behind to create the lifestyle he wanted for himself and his family.
He tried out online business with other confusing platforms, but after finding Kajabi he went all in with the platform, and things took off in a big way.
What started off as a pissed off rant on Facebook, became an 8-week intensive coaching program.
Even though he didn’t launch his program the “right” way, his rant generated a lot of interest. So he threw a quick order page up and made $7,000 in 36 hours.
Since then he’s made $18k in 30 days, and 13 months in, had his first 6-figure net month.
What’s next for Hank?
He wants to reduce his working time down to 3 days a week. And set up more passive income so he can make money while he sleeps.
And with Kajabi that won’t be hard for Hank to do!
For the rest of this post let’s dive deeper, because Hank really gets it. He understands on a deep level what it takes to create the lifestyle you’ve always wanted no matter where you’re at in life.
Quit Living in Your Excuses
How many times have you thought to yourself: “I really want to start my own business… but…”
What if whatever follows that “but” is just a big fat excuse? What if you could make that excuse disappear like magic?
Newsflash. You can.
Instead of living in your excuses, what if you start asking yourself what is possible? Then start creating change in your life!
Most limitations are things we’ve made up in our heads. For every reason you use to validate the assumption that starting your own business won’t work for you, there is someone else with that same “limitation” starting a successful business while you are sitting still.
Do you like your life?
If not, then get out there and change it.
You have everything inside of you that you need to make things happen. The reason why Hank has done so well with his business is because he understood that and acted. He trusted the energy he was creating.
You can do the same thing.
Hank puts it best in his interview:
“You are always preparing for your next opportunity or robbing yourself of them, based on the choices you make.”
Think about that for a second.
No matter your background, no matter what your current situation is right now, you could be one opportunity away from changing your life. Jump at that opportunity, and you could start a domino effect that will radically change your lifestyle.
Success doesn’t happen overnight; it’s through a series of intuitive and calculated jumps from one opportunity to the next. All of this energy you are projecting with each opportunity will only open more opportunities, and the only thing that’s really getting in your way is your excuses.
Until you make the conscious decision to start shaping and creating the lifestyle you want, things aren’t going to change.
Next thing you know, you’re waking up 40 years later to go to a job you hate wondering why you wasted so much time when the life you really wanted was right there waiting for you to take it.
If that thought triggers something in you…
Get fired up!
Get angry if you have to, and use that as fuel to make things really happen in your life.
Drop the excuses, drop the self-pity or judgments you may feel when recognizing all the chances you dipped out on, and choose to take a jump toward your next opportunity.
Even if you’re the guy who has been at the same job for 40 years, it’s not too late to go after what you really want in life.
Get The Lifestyle You’ve Always Wanted With Imperfect Action
Perfectionism is just another excuse people use to keep them from creating the business and life they really want.
Be raw, be real, and go for it. Because no one can relate to perfect, and no successful business was ever started under perfect circumstances anyway. There’s always going to be a hitch in your plans. And there will even be times you totally screw things up. But if you trust yourself without flinching big things happen.
There’s a beauty in imperfection that naturally attracts people. And even when you mess up, you can bet that someone is watching you breathing a sigh of relief because they can relate to you on a deeper level.
Most people are fed up with people who put on a good face and act like everything in life is sunshine and rainbows. They are looking for people who are transparent.
Be yourself unapologetically.
You may drive people away, but for everyone that you send the other direction, you’ll attract even more of the right people to you.
Who wants any relationship, business or otherwise, where you aren’t free to be who you are?
If you start your business as someone you’re not, you will always feel in conflict. You won’t be in alignment with your true self, and the people you attract to your business will only add to that conflict.
If you are wholly and passionately yourself, you will draw like-minded people to your business who are enthusiastic about buying from you.
Why is that?
Because you’ve connected.
You’ve built a real relationship, even if you’ve never met them face to face.
When that happens, you aren’t building a business. You’re building community. And there is power in community for your business and your customers.
That kind of alignment can radically change your life and the lives of the people you’re helping.
Always be true to yourself in your business. You don’t have to let perfectionism hold you back from the life you want.
Believe That You Have Everything Inside of You Change Your Life
Call me naive, but I believe that so many people fail in business because they simply don’t believe they can do it.
Be hungry and foolish.
Instead of coming up with all the reasons why you can’t, daydream about all the ways things are possible.
Even if you’ve carefully calculated all the risks, the numbers check out, and you’ve set everything in line how it should be, you still can’t prevent setbacks. Obstacles have a way of finding you, no matter how well-prepared you think you are.
This is especially true for entrepreneurs.
That can be a scary thought, but if you look at it from a different angle, there’s hope in that.
If obstacles find you no matter what, then you might as well go after what you want.
From someone who’s been there, done that, the obstacles you face when you’re chasing after something you’re passionate about are worth it. And any day of the week, I’ll take those obstacles over the obstacles that happen from simply existing in a life I never wanted.
Don’t stress over setbacks, failures, and hard times. Embrace them as part of the journey, and see them as moments that expand into a new set of possibilities you never even considered beforehand.
Allow yourself to think bigger.
Never stop daydreaming about what your life could be, because when you trust yourself that deeply, and believe you can accomplish everything in life that you want to accomplish…
Anyone is capable of accomplishing more than they ever dreamed of.
Maybe that kind of power scares you.
Maybe you are living in your excuses because you know that everything in Hank’s interview and this post is true, but you are scared to admit it.
Because that kind of power means your life and relationships have to change. And especially if you come from a family that has always done life a certain way, change could mean you’ll have to accept the judgements (true or not) of the people you love most.
Change could mean that you have to place firm boundaries in your relationships and how you spend your time. It could mean that you have to say goodbye to people, places, and things in your life that don’t fit into to the lifestyle you really desire.
Are you willing to accept that?
That could be all it takes for you to start creating the life you want.
Everything is Preparing You to Do What You Were Meant to Do
Are you living to work or working to live?
If you have something inside of you that you want to share with the world, you’ll never be content keeping it locked inside.
Some people love their jobs and are happy with where they are. But some people weren’t made to fit into that mold.
If you’re here today, you already know which side you are on. And if you aren’t happy with how your life is going right now you can start changing it today.
We have never lived in a time like this. You don’t need thousands of dollars to start your business, all you need is a computer and internet connection.
The only barrier you have is your limiting beliefs and excuses. You blame your excuses, and you blame your situation for robbing you of the career you really want, but the truth is none of those things deserve your blame.
You can free yourself, make the excuses disappear, and get started in a new direction.
You have an opportunity sitting in front of you right now.
If you are ready to change your life, the way to do that could be staring you right in the face.
