In college James Wedmore was a bartender at On The Border. He became a bartender so he could meet people, without having to make his introverted self too uncomfortable.

He spent $800 on a bartending course, and was excited to put all of his knowledge to good use, but when he started his job… He discovered that with the bulk of orders being pre-made margaritas he was little more than a professional drink pourer.

Talk about a total waste of $800… On top of that, he didn’t even like this job.

James knew there was something more out there for him. He didn’t want to be a bartender for the rest of his life.

He always had his eye out for the next big thing. He needed a way out of this awful job. Then it hit him. James decided that he would put that $800 to good use. He wouldn’t settle for pouring drinks.

You’re not going to believe what James’ first course was about…


Yes, you read that right. James Wedmore launched his first course called Bartend 4 Profit in 2007. It was old school. I’m talking physical book and compact discs old school. But a few months later he made his first sale for $200.

This was only the beginning for James.

When he was going to events researching how to sell his bartending course, James discovered his passion for marketing. And that’s when the self-doubt kicked in.

Bartending was not James’ passion. So he was a little detached from the whole experience. He didn’t really doubt himself because Bartend 4 Profit was just a way out of his crappy job.

But marketing...

Marketing and making videos were a little closer to his heart. So when people were asking him how he made such high-quality videos, he’d get a knot in his stomach when they wanted to learn more.

A little voice in the back of his mind taunted him. “Who are you to be teaching this stuff to other people?”

But James knew he had to pursue this. And by ignoring that antagonistic little voice in his head, James built multiple 6-figure businesses in just a couple months.

By January 2011 he teamed up with his buddy, Lewis Howes to build a course on Youtube videos. It took eight months to create this course, and within 30 days after launching, they had $400,000 in sales.

The really crazy part:

The course was only $97!

This course still makes sales to this day.

Fast forward. 2011-2016 James’ business evolved from there with several courses teaching people everything they need to know about creating professional videos.

All of this started with a guy bartending in a job he hated, with no real background in business.

Who Are You To Build An Online Business?

You ever hear that voice in your head?

It can pop at any time, and stop you dead in your tracks.

As children, as students, as employees.

We raise our hands before we can ask a question, we wait on a degree before we pursue a career, and when we get a job, we wait on the instruction of supervisors and bosses before we act. We even have to ask permission to take time off to enjoy a vacation.

But if you are waiting for some higher power to reach out to you and give you permission to start your business. Then I’m going to give it to you straight.

No one will give you permission.

As an entrepreneur, you are the boss. You decide when to act.

You don’t need a degree or some official certification before you can start your own business online. You just have to open your laptop and do it.

If you’re reading this, then you already know you have something down deep you need to go after. You know that you weren’t born to work a 9-5 job that you hate until you die. But despite this potential you have in your life, you may still be waiting for someone to give you permission before you pursue your dreams.

If you already own a business and you grapple with this self-doubt. There isn’t anything wrong with you. This is a normal thing that every entrepreneur faces.

You want the good news?

When you start doubting yourself, it’s a good clue that you are on the verge of a big breakthrough.

So instead of fighting this, and trying to make it go away, embrace it. Learn to accept that self-doubt it just part of the process.
