Your checkout is one of the most important parts of your business. The ability to customize and control it is one of the best ways to improve sales and succeed as an entrepreneur. That’s why we’re introducing three new ways to gain more control over your checkout to save you time, sell more, and improve customer experience.

In most cases, you want your products to be sold as many times as possible. However, there are many types of other digital knowledge products that have limited sales allocation. Some Kajabi Heroes host webinars, events, and group coaching on a ticket or seat basis.

Additionally, many Kajabi Heroes add a setup fee to their recurring subscription offers. If a setup fee is entered, the first payment charged immediately upon purchase will include the setup fee.

When you add a Setup fee in Kajabi, the default text that appears in your checkout may not always be the most ideal customer experience and result in lost sales.

What’s new with the Kajabi Checkout?

Kajabi now enables Limited Quantity, Limited Time Offers, and the ability to customize your setup fee text!

With offer limits, you can set a limit to the number of times an offer can be purchased and if an offer limit is reached, you can send your checkout page visitors to the landing page of your choice (like the example below). We even made a landing page template just for this purpose. You can promote the next time the offer will be available or cross-sell other offers.

With the ability to customize your setup fee, you can clarify the fee you’re charging your customers, localize it in your native language, or simply try different wordings to test checkout performance - it’s all possible with this feature.

Together, these features help you sell cohort-based courses, live events, or group coaching sessions, and improve your checkout conversion rate. You’ll never have to worry about overselling your offer, manually disabling the offer after your limit has been reached, or losing out on sales because your customers don’t understand why they’re being charged a setup fee.

How to customize your setup fee text

By default, your setup fee will display, "setup fee" as the descriptor. You can customize your setup fee text to better fit your brand and offer pricing.

For example, with the setup fee text you can specify the purpose of the fee such as:

  • "Enrollment fee"
  • "Registration fee"
  • "Trial fee"
  • "Matriculation fee"

This will give your customers more transparency and clarity around your pricing and allow you to customize your offer pricing with the language and brand that best fits your business and audience.

To customize your setup fee text:

  1. Open the Sales tab from the Dashboard
  2. Click Offers
  3. Select the Offer you wish to edit or create a new one
  4. In the Offer Editor, click Edit Price
  5. Select Recurring Subscription
  6. Navigate to the Setup Fee field
  7. Enter your desired Setup Fee
  8. Then, enter your setup fee text in the "Setup fee override text" field
  9. Click Save to keep and apply your changes:

What do these updates mean for Kajabi Heroes?

Kajabi is giving you more control over how you sell your offers, so you can save time and reduce the amount of manual work it takes to run your business the way you want.

You no longer have to monitor and manually un-publish your offer when it fills up or hits the expiration date. This means you can spend more time on the content and marketing the offer.

Kajabi Hero Emily Katherine Tingey of Shine With Emily uses the Limited Time Offer feature for this exact reason, “now I don't have to stay up until midnight to close my offer?!?! Amazing! 😍.”

Or, maybe you offer cohort-based courses. Using a Limited Quantity Offer allows you to easily build and track the members of these cohorts.

Kajabi Hero Helen Woodford of Create! Art School uses the Limited Quantity Offer as well. She says, “I run an art school business which is mainly online but I also have some small face to face classes. This “limited quality” feature is amazing because I can also sell my face to face classes on Kajabi without worrying that too many people will book on and that I’ll have to send them away.”

The Limited Quantity Offer could be great for anyone who is offering a physical item and needs to limit the inventory of the promotional item. Some heroes will offer printed books as lead magnets.

Kajabi Hero Zack Scriven says, “We are using it in combination with SwagUp to automatically ship a limited number of Swag Packs (Using Zapier) Whenever someone signs up for our Limited Release Program.”
