Highlighting 5 Kajabi Heroes for International Women’s Day
5 diverse female entrepreneurs share the career advice they wish they could give their younger selves.
Starting a business involves hard work, grit, creativity, and perseverance to overcome obstacles. Aspiring entrepreneurs may face impostor syndrome, lack of capital or blatant discouragement. To celebrate International Women’s Day, we are spotlighting some amazing women entrepreneurs. These women have turned their dreams into reality and built successful businesses.
Five Kajabi Heroes shared the career advice they would give to their younger selves. Check out their inspirational words of wisdom:
Don’t be afraid to be first
Photographer De Lisa Carol advises, “Don't be afraid to be the ‘one and only’ or first in spaces where others do not look or come from where you are ... This makes you different and allows others to gain the tools they need to make the world around them more inclusive and not just diverse.”
Embrace big dreams
Digital Marketing Strategist Sixteen Ramos reflects on her challenges. She says, “There’s no such thing as an impossible dream. So embrace those big dreams because you were born to make them happen. When I was young, there were so many people that told me that my dreams were too big to accomplish and that I should try to conform and dream a bit smaller. Well, thank goodness that little girl didn’t listen, because fast forward twenty years, here I am working for myself and living the life of my dreams.”
Avoid comparison
Event planner Akeshi Akinseye recommends avoiding comparison. She says, “Your journey is your journey and you don’t need permission or approval from anyone to be yourself and to be successful. Show up unapologetically YOU, put in the work, and don’t stress about what you cannot control.”
Find your gift
Emma Cannon, integrated fertility practitioner & master acupuncturist encourages self reflection. She shares, “Find your gift - the thing that makes your heart sing. Find ways to bring it to the world. Find people willing to pay for your gift.”
Trust the process
Sarah Hagstrom, a health business coach, advocates for self-confidence. She says, “I've always been very driven, and well, somewhat uptight as a kid, so my advice to my younger self would be to trust the process, have some fun, and know that in the end, it always works out.”
