As short-form video continues to drive engagement on social, the team behind One Peak Creative is here to help you master the art and science of making Reels and TikTok videos that perform.

One Peak Creative is a one-stop education hub for content creators, marketers, and small business owners looking to improve their video strategy. Meg Jackson, one of the co-founders of One Peak Creative, along with her business partners Glen and Conar, has created a suite of courses and a community that has helped over 55,000 digital creators skyrocket their views and reach hundreds of millions more people with their videos.

Here’s a snapshot of their incredible business success:

  • Reached 55,000 students and earned over $6M in revenue within 10 months of launching
  • On track to earn $10M in their first year
  • Helped their students get billions of views organically

While these metrics are impressive, it wasn’t until they honed in on a specific offering that they were able to scale to these heights.

Meg’s top tip for creators looking to do the same? Focus on finding an amazing offer. “Before our course took off, we tried a few angles and received very little interest,” she recalls. “But the moment we found an offer that worked, we were profitable from day one.”

The Challenge: Moving From Agency to Digital Products

Before One Peak Creative launched their successful online course, they had never sold a digital product before. In fact, they were nowhere near the online education space. One Peak Creative began as a video production company where they created ads for the world’s biggest brands like PepsiCo, Tide, and Expedia.

However, in August 2023, the team made the difficult decision to “shut the doors” to their 7-figure agency.

“It seemed crazy at the time, but we were burning the candle at both ends with long production days and jam-packed schedules,” Meg recalls. “We had reached burnout exchanging our time for money and knew it was time to transition to something new.”

The burnout from running a busy agency and production business is what sparked the desire to dive head first into the digital product space. They knew an online business would give them more flexibility and the ability to automate parts of the business, they just needed to choose the right tool to help them get there.

The Solution: An All-in-One Platform to Make the Transition Seamless

When it came time to choose a platform to sell and manage their digital products, Meg didn’t have to look far.

“I had personally taken online courses from leaders in the space like Amy Porterfield and Jenna Kutcher who I knew were using Kajabi, and I loved the experience from a customer perspective,” she remembers.

They started comparing different online hosting platforms and Kajabi was the first tool they tried. “It was apparent from the very beginning that they really cared about their course creators and had invested a significant amount of time into building out resources that made them feel supported,” says Meg. “That was really important to us.”

Since they hadn’t sold a digital product before, they needed a tool to make the process seamless and easy. Not only did they want to host their online course, but they wanted a solution to handle everything from email marketing to landing page design to payment processing.

Kajabi was the clear winner when it came to an all-in-one solution,” says Meg. “The fact that it was a ‘one-stop-shop’ made it a no-brainer. It’s such a peace of mind having all aspects of the business being hosted in one place and not having to use or pay for multiple tools.”

Results: Launching From 0 to $6M in 10 Months

With the right tools in place, One Peak Creative launched their inaugural course on Kajabi in September 2023.

And within 10 months of launching, they earned over $6M in revenue and reached 55,000 students. On top of that, they’ve also helped their students get billions of views organically through the Instagram Reels and TikTok strategies shared in their course.

One Peak Creative is on track to earn $10M in their first full year with their online course.

“The course is doing 10x more revenue than our production company ever did but takes a fraction of the time and resources to make it possible.”

Perhaps more important than the monetary success, their online course has helped Meg and the team spend less time working and more time enjoying life.

“When I was trading time for money, I was constantly working and even when I had time off I was exhausted,” she says. “Now, I get to spend way more time with my two young kids!”

She adds, “Kajabi has allowed me to scale the business on autopilot. Our day-to-day is spent doing the things we love like email marketing and creating ads while maintaining more balance than I’ve ever had in my entrepreneurial career.”

One Peak Creative now uses Kajabi for every single aspect of the business. It’s where they host our online courses, build landing pages, take customer payments, manage email campaigns, create funnels and even host a community. Meg notes, “it’s been the driving force behind everything we do.”

Looking Ahead: Earning $100 Million

The One Peak Creative team has undoubtedly made major progress in just one short year. Hoping to maintain their rapid growth, they foresee their education business doing $100 million in the next few years as they build out a larger suite of products to help serve business owners and creators. They’re also interested in either acquiring or starting new businesses so they can continue to develop marketing campaigns that get them excited.

However, even with big plans in their sights, they’re staying open to whatever comes their way. “We are keeping our future goals and aspirations fluid so they can change and grow as we learn,” she says. “The biggest lesson I’ve learned from business is to always be learning, growing and pivoting. I can’t count the number of times I’ve been frustrated, and felt like giving up — but you’re never far from the next win that is going to propel the business.”

One Peak Creative’s Playbook for Creating High-Performing Video Content

Meg and her team have made an entire business out of video content, so, naturally, they have a few proven tips. Here’s their playbook for creating high-performing video content for Reels and TikTok (like the one below).

  • Use the Hook: When it comes to short-form video, your hook is everything. “The video before yours might be a Red Bull athlete jumping out of a plane and the video after might be a singing chimpanzee,” says Meg. “You have 5 seconds to convince viewers that YOUR video is going to be better than what’s coming next and create enough curiosity to keep them around. Your hook should be so good that if someone’s phone died while watching the first 5 seconds, they would be scouring the internet to find out how the video ends.”
  • Provide Value: Always remember that social media is an exchange. “People are trading their valuable time for the content that you’ve created, so it’s your responsibility to make it worth their time,” she says. “Whether it’s a laugh, a lesson, or a tug at the heart strings, you need to leave your viewer with value.”
  • Be Relatable: The key to virality is creating content that resonates with an audience. “If I talk about your favorite show, you lean in,” says Meg. “But if I talk about a movie you’ve never heard about, you tune out. Find ways to use relatability to make an audience lean in and feel connected to what you’re saying.”
