Tony Jeffries is a boxer, Olympic bronze medalist, and founder of Boxing Fitness Academy, the world’s number one boxing fitness education course. Since 2015, he’s traveled the world and taught thousands of people how to have success teaching boxing for fitness. Whether helping personal trainers expand their service offerings or guiding boxers into the world of teaching, Tony’s online certification course is changing lives and careers.

Here’s a snapshot of his success:

  • Earned over $1M using Kajabi
  • Taught thousands of people through his online course
  • Grew his social audience to over 4M across platforms

The Challenge: Fighting With the Algorithms For Ownership and Revenue

Throughout his career as a boxer and educator, Tony has built an impressive social audience. He has over 4M followers across Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube. However, even with millions of followers, he’s learned the hard way that he can’t rely solely on social platforms or algorithms to drive revenue.

“One time, YouTube randomly removed two of my highest-performing videos that had been on my channel for years, which really impacted my overall revenue and views on the channel,” he remembers. “Now, each month I’m hoping my views don't go down, as I lose revenue when they do.”

About 60% of Tony’s revenue comes from digital products and brand deals. The rest is generated from platform-based ad revenue. And because he operates in the boxing niche — one that doesn’t necessarily attract broad advertisers — he finds himself working even harder to create content that secures high views to drive ad revenue

“My CPM price is very, very low compared to others on the platform,” he says. “I have to get double the amount of views to get paid the same as a creator in a different niche.”

Creating platform-driven content that garners views trickled into every part of Tony’s business and even impacted his teaching style.

“[On social media], I can’t teach the way I want to teach,” he says. “I have to make my video with more of a hook, focusing on keeping attention rather than actual educational content.”

The Solution: Building Content Ownership on Kajabi

Like many creators, Tony didn’t want to work for an algorithm or focus on view count. He knew he needed a secure way to build his business and own his content.

“Creators can't rely on views alone to get revenue,” he says. “It’s not good for your mental health to constantly hope for a video to blow up. We work so hard on a video that if it fails and brings in peanuts, it’s stressful.”

With a limited technical background, Tony sought an easy-to-use platform. He experimented with WordPress, but experienced consistent technical issues that ended up costing him time and money to fix.

That’s when Kajabi came in. When he discovered Kajabi, the first thing that stood out to him was that creators keep 100% of their income from the platform. The ease of use was also a gamechanger for his business.

“Not only is it beginner-friendly, but it’s easy to use, it never breaks, and my clients love it.”

Results: Growing a Million Dollar Business

Since using Kajabi, Tony has generated over $1M in revenue and helped thousands of people live better with boxing.

The Boxing Fitness Academy enables people to get certified as fitness boxing instructors so they can level-up their personal training business or become boxing instructors. The program includes over 50 video lessons, two levels of certifications, a self-assessment, personalized feedback from the Boxing Fitness Academy team, and a community of coaches to learn from – all housed in Kajabi.

“Since I started using Kajabi around six years ago, there has not been one problem with it,” says Tony. “In fact, it’s so simple that I can do edits myself and I have zero experience in building a website, never mind an online course.”

Looking Ahead: Making a Bigger Impact With Boxing Fitness

His best advice for creators who are getting started today? Build ownership off of social media right away.

“I would recommend creators on all platforms build an email list,” recommends Tony. “This is the best first step for anyone to do so you can contact your audience without needing to use a third party like a social media platform.”

Looking ahead, he hopes to continue helping people around the world through his boxing education and grow to helping 10,000 people a day. And with Kajabi, he’s confident he has the right tools to do that.

“With the help from Kajabi where I host my course, I can have a bigger impact on people's lives with boxing for fitness.”
