Krista Williams: Transforming the Almost 30 Podcast into a 7-Figure Business
Krista Williams, co-host and co-founder of the Almost 30 podcast, shares how she grew the business to 7-figures using Kajabi for online courses and membership.
Meet Krista Williams, co-host and co-founder of the top health and wellness podcast and brand, Almost 30. The chart-topping podcast hosted by Krista and Lindsey Simcik covers everything from modern spirituality to entrepreneurship to self-development — and they’ve interviewed some of the biggest names in business. Since launching more than seven years ago, Almost 30 has grown into a global community that reaches millions through its episodes, online courses, events, and membership community.
Here’s a snapshot of Almost 30’s business success:
- Earns multiple 7-figures per year
- Generated over 100M downloads
- Released over 600 episodes and counting
In addition to co-hosting the podcast, Krista is a public speaker, retreat facilitator, and the creator of Metamorphosis, a body transformation program, and The Life Edit, a total life transformation. In her own words, “I help women navigate various life challenges through creating connections, building a life they’re excited about, and simplifying spirituality and self-love.”
The Challenge: Growing Beyond a Podcast
What began as an outlet for Krista and Lindsey to share candid conversations about transitioning from their 20s to their 30s quickly became a global community and resource for people navigating similar life experiences.
As they grew their audience, the two knew they needed a central place to expand their content beyond the podcast — not only to help their listeners in more ways but also to increase their monetization opportunities.
“I wanted to find a way to funnel my creativity and provide more tangible resources for my audience and community beyond just content and the podcast,” recalls Krista. “With so many ideas for courses, lessons, and experiences, I needed to find a seamless platform to execute them all in a way that was beautiful and easy to use.”
Almost 30’s distinct branding also played a role in their need for a seamless platform.
“We are a brand that is very ‘brand first’ and are known for our colors, aesthetic, and style,” says Krista. “So it's a huge thing for us to be able to customize everything to match our branding.”
The Solution: Expanding Almost 30 Using Kajabi’s All-in-One Platform
Krista and Lindsey didn’t have to look far to find a platform to grow their business. They confidently chose Kajabi based on recommendations from fellow entrepreneurs who had already created online courses on the platform.
“We are lucky to be surrounded by a lot of people we trust in business, and it was cool to hear how highly our friends speak of Kajabi,” says Krista. “They were creating courses and memberships similar to what we had envisioned and told us how easy it was to set up.”
Krista and Lindsey began using Kajabi to launch their signature online courses covering personal development, spirituality, and relationships. In 2020, they launched the membership part of their business to deepen their relationships with the community.
Krista’s favorite part about using Kajabi is that it helps them organize their course and membership material in one place.
“Kajabi feels like it was the missing piece to our business ecosystem!” says Krista. “We can have live calls right on the platform and the automatic reminders in the community portion are a huge time saver. My favorite part is that we can have evergreen courses customers can use at their own pace and timing; I love that I can take the time to create a course that can support people at any time they need it.”
Results: Earning Multiple 7-Figures and Reaching Thousands of People
Since expanding their podcast business on Kajabi, Almost 30 earns multiple seven figures annually and helps thousands of people worldwide.
The business uses Kajabi for all of its signature online courses, the membership community, and payments. They’ve also expanded their empire with a second podcast called Morning Microdose, which shares a daily curated episode that’s 10 minutes or less.
“I know this would not have been possible without Kajabi, and I am so grateful,” says Krista.
Looking Ahead: Going Deeper and Growing as an Entrepreneur
In the next year, Krista is focused on going deeper with her offerings by continuing to run successful global retreats and coaching women 1-1.
For the Almost 30 brand, the duo is launching their first book in 2025. “This will bring a whole new and exciting aspect to our business,” she says.” NYT Best Sellers list, here we come!”
Her advice for other entrepreneurs looking to scale their online business?
“Just start! We have a habit of trying to perfect everything before launching, but you will also 100% change as you grow, so why not just get out there and continue to improve throughout your experience and growth?”
3 Steps to Getting into the CEO Mindset
A major key to scaling a creator business to 7-figures is to get into the CEO mindset. For Krista, this happened “as soon as we were making money and hired our first employee,” as she recalls. “I didn’t really understand the term, but I knew that we were doing something powerful and that calling myself CEO was part of the plan to scale.”
If you want to make more money online, it’s time to shift into the creator CEO mindset. Here are Krista’s steps to do that:
- Show up online consistently: Plan ahead or batch content so that you can be consistent even when you don’t feel like showing up!
- Know exactly who you’re talking to and what problem you’re solving: This can take some time, but when you are clear on this, everything else is easy.
- Diversify your income: By diversifying income streams, creators can maximize their revenue potential and build a more sustainable online business. I will never forget that early on in my career, someone told me that most millionaires have at least six income streams, so I made a point of creating those streams to increase my income overall!
