What comes to mind when you hear "million dollar musician"?

Adele?

Bruno Mars?

Lady Gaga?

When you think about all of the major artists who are topping the charts in music right now, it's hard to imagine what it’s like to be in their shoes. The fame, the glamor, and the cold hard cash. Imagining that kind of lifestyle is unreal.

But I'm willing to bet, when you hear "million dollar musician," you don't picture a stay at home mom of five working from a tiny room in the corner of her garage.

What if I told you about a Kajabi Hero who did just that?

I can't tell you how excited I am to introduce you to a real-life Kajabi celebrity, Leah McHenry of The Savvy Musician Academy. Leah always knew she was going to be a musician. From the time she was a young girl, she decided her passion for music would be her career and I'm convinced Leah's story will make you rethink what is within your reach in the world we live in today.

Break Out of The Rat Race

Did you know that 76% of Americans today are living paycheck to paycheck?

Let’s think about that for a second.

For every four people you meet, three of them are on the brink. That means if an injury, emergency, or crisis happens and they can't work... they are in trouble. And 27% of Americans have no savings to fall back on whatsoever.

In today's economy, that's heavy. Life has a way of not going according to plan. And when you're living paycheck to paycheck you have this fear always in the back of your mind: you are one disaster away from losing everything.

If this is your current situation, I feel for you. I’ve been there too...believe me...but we’ll save my story for another post.

Leah McHenry also knows that feeling. Paycheck to paycheck, week after week, she battled the same fear and dread every day that 76% of Americans have.

But Leah changed her life completely with Kajabi. Savvy Musician Academy exploded. Her sales jumped to over $30,000 that first month!

Don’t Let People Tell You What You Can or Cannot Do

I'm going to level with you.

If you’re a stay at home parent, listen up.

You are a rockstar just for doing what you do day in and day out. Your worth and value are unbelievable. You can't put a price on all that you do for your family.

You may not feel like it between dirty diapers, sleepless nights, and stress you go through every day, but you can accomplish anything.

In a world that told Leah: "You can't be a musician and a stay at home mom." Leah refused to buy into that lie and told the world she didn't have to tour across the country to build a fanbase. She set up a little room in her garage and decided to use the internet to get her name out there.

In the middle of raising and homeschooling five kids under the age of 10, she made music, built up a following, and used that small extra income to learn how to use the internet to grow even more.

No matter who you are or where you are in life, the world is going to bombard you with why you can't pursue your passion. Leah's story proves you don't have to listen to it. You don't have to accept the negativity.

There are a lot of hateful people in the world who don't want to see other people succeed. They will spew out all kinds of reasons why you can't turn your passion into a career.

And sometimes it's not other people. Your own mind will get scared the moment it senses you easing out of your comfort zone and give you a million reasons why you need to get back in.

Here's the thing: You only need one strong reason to live your dreams. Find that reason and reject anything that tells you otherwise. Because I see people monetize their passions every day (many that never thought anyone would pay for their knowledge).

You Can Create The Life You Want

You have access to unlimited opportunities at your fingertips.

The internet gives you power and freedom that other generations never had. We live in a world without limits. If you want to be a writer, a business owner, or a musician like Leah. You can do that in your home or all across the world if you want to.

There's been a massive surge in digital creators  and online entrepreneurs in just the past couple of years. People realize, now more than ever, that you don't have to work for someone else or trade your time for money. You can break free of that system and earn the income you want to earn on your own terms.

53 million Americans work as freelancers. And that's only one way to make money online.

There are endless niches and avenues you can use to break free of your 9-5 and earn a living.

Change Your Life in a Year

When Leah built Savvy Musician Academy, she didn’t have it all figured out. But she did know she wanted to teach other artists how to make money from their music like she had.

So instead of hesitating because she didn't have everything figured out. Leah put herself out there with Kajabi and built her courses. In just a month her husband quit his job, she had to hire employees, and figure out how to run a business overnight.

Leah went from paycheck to paycheck, to running a multimillion dollar business in just a year.

Think about how drastically Leah changed her life in such a short period. She didn't have a fancy office or a ton of money to build something huge. She did all of this out of her garage while homeschooling five kids.

Her passion, drive, and determination were key to her success.

She worked hard to create something valuable. She took what she knew, and used that to improve people's lives. In turn, she changed her life and her family's life at the same time.

It's easy to glamorize the people who "made it" in life. We view people like Leah as some kind of celebrity who got lucky or knew the right people. Maybe Leah had an advantage over the rest of us that made all the difference in her success.

The truth is, she didn't.

She started out just like you and me, from square one.

When you put these rock stars of the entrepreneurial world, like Leah, on a pedestal you automatically adopt a mindset that limits what you can achieve for yourself. Leah deserves all the props in the world for what she has built, but don't think for one second that you can't create something of your own.

So what can you learn from Leah? How can you take all of this motivation and change your life too?

You have to take action.

If you never take that first step, you will never live your dreams.

If you keep procrastinating day after day, you will still be at the same job doing the same thing in the same situation you are right now.

Leah was broke, told to file bankruptcy, and fed up with constant financial struggle. So she decided to do something about it.

Invest in Your Passion

Leah took her music royalties and got her hands on every book and course she could find to learn how to build her business. She didn't materialize Savvy Musician Academy out of thin air. She made sure she had the knowledge and tools she needed to deliver an awesome product to musicians.

Before the courses, she already had her passion for music and the experience of building a small fanbase for herself. But Leah knew that she needed more education to take what she was already doing to a new level. So she invested in honing her skills.

That's so important.

If you start any business, you need to invest in it no matter what. Today it is much cheaper to get started online than to build a brick and mortar business, but if you are unwilling to invest in yourself and your business you won't see the results you want.

Let me put things into perspective for you.

Studies show the average start-up cost for a new business is $30,000.

That is before they even open the doors or generate income.

When it comes to online revenue, you can start for a tiny fraction of that.

Remember Jeanne Kelly? She only had $125 to start her business.

When you weigh the cost of courses and coaching vs. that $30,000 average, it doesn't take a lot to start your venture online.

When you invest in yourself and apply that knowledge to your business, you will see every penny of that back and then some much quicker than if you stumbled through it on your own.

Build a Business Online Even if you Don't Know What You're Doing

You may have the passion, but no clue how to market or package your idea into a successful business. And that's okay!

There are a lot of great coaches out there that know what it's like to start from scratch. They did a lot of guesswork and made a lot of mistakes to get where they are.

Chalene Johnson is one of the greats when it comes to online courses and coaching. Chalene was instrumental to Leah's success because all of Chalene's processes and tricks of the trade were available to Leah when she built Savvy Musician Academy.

The great thing about online courses as an investment is the advantage they give when you are starting out. You learn from their journey, along with step by step instructions to repeat proven methods for success.

Chalene is actually how Leah even found Kajabi in the first place. Chalene runs her whole business on Kajabi also...seeing the coincidence ;-)

Making money online is a lot of effort and hard work. I'm not here to tell you that being the CEO of your own business is easy, but I am here to tell you that it's worth it.

It took a lot of time, energy, and hard work for Leah to create Savvy Musician Academy, but for Leah, it was all worth it.

Life has stress no matter what you do. Leah made sure that financial struggle would not be a stress her family would have to deal with again.

Leah is a firm believer in online courses, and she credits the education she invested in as a huge factor in how she scaled her business up so quickly.

"I just can't emphasize enough how much everything has changed and how important it is to find your purpose and your passion and monetize that."

-Leah McHenry

Stories like Leah's are why I am so passionate about what Kajabi has to offer entrepreneurs.

Wordpress can be a huge pain in the butt. Leah hated Wordpress and how frustrating it was. She found Kajabi and ran with it. As a singer/songwriter, she needed a platform that delivered results without sucking all of the creative energy out of her. Kajabi enabled her to build her business as easily as possible.

That's why Kajabi is here.

Kajabi is all about simplicity and empowering people to change their lives. That's why I love sharing these stories with you. In a world filled with so much negativity and stress over finances, we know that life doesn't have to be that way for you. Because every single day we help people live their dreams and do things they thought were impossible.

Leah is just one example of why we do what we do at Kajabi.

Today is The Day to Change Your Life

If you don't take anything else away from this story take this: your passions are worth investing in, and when you invest in yourself, you can achieve things you never dreamed.

Where will you be a year from now if you stop procrastinating, believe in what you are capable of, and invest into your passion?

You can be a Kajabi rock star like Leah, and live the impossible. You can stop living paycheck to paycheck and pursue your passion. But you will never know your true potential unless you take those first steps.
